Before Judging Dr. Kumar Vishwas, Know This Story About Sunil Pal!

Being a Star Is Truly Difficult!

The more popular you become, the greater people's expectations of you. Fans go to extraordinary lengths to meet you, making countless efforts just to spend a few moments with someone they admire. But when they are unable to meet you because of your busy schedule or other unavoidable circumstances, their admiration can sometimes turn into resentment.

The very person who once considered you an idol and sang your praises may suddenly become your harshest critic, or even an adversary. Complaints begin, followed by negative remarks, the spreading of half-truths, and sometimes the creation of stories that have little or no connection with reality.

The irony is that the very popularity a person spends years working hard to achieve can sometimes become a test in which it is impossible to keep everyone happy. You may make time for thousands of people, but if you are unable to meet just one person, their entire perception of you can change.

Perhaps the greatest challenge of being a star is that people do not merely expect to meet you; they also expect you to behave according to their personal expectations. They forget that the 'star' they see on stage is, after all, a human being with commitments, limitations, and compulsions of their own. It is not possible to meet everyone, respond to everyone, or live up to everyone's expectations.

But to understand this better, it is worth looking at an incident that illustrates how a missed meeting can, over time, become a subject of public accusations and controversy.

When a Meeting Did Not Happen, Did the Perspective Change?

Over the past few days, you may have seen comedian Sunil Pal making controversial remarks about the eminent poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas. But there is a story behind these allegations, a story that may help explain how an admirer can turn into a critic.

When Sunil Pal made what we consider objectionable remarks about Dr. Kumar Vishwas on journalist Romana's podcast for ABP News, we reached out to Vishwaasam, the community of fans of the eminent poet. What sources associated with the Vishwasam community shared with us about Sunil Pal was surprising.

According to sources, on October 12, 2025, Sunil Pal contacted Dr. Kumar Vishwas's manager on WhatsApp and asked where Dr. Vishwas was staying and whether he could come over to meet him. He was informed that Dr. Kumar Vishwas was at the Sahara Star Hotel. Sunil Pal then mentioned Santacruz and asked whether he should come. He also wrote that he would meet Dr. Vishwas for five minutes and then leave. During the conversation, he was informed that Dr. Kumar Vishwas was about to leave for dinner and that a meeting would not be possible at that time. Despite this, at 10:52 PM, Sunil Pal messaged that he had arrived at the hotel gate and requested just two minutes of the poet's time. At 10:54 PM, he was informed that Dr. Kumar Vishwas had already left. Sunil Pal responded with 'Oh' and 'Thx', to which the other person replied, 'Ji'. A minute later, at 10:55 PM, Sunil Pal also sent a 22-second video recorded outside the hotel. In the video, Sunil Pal can be seen referring to Dr. Kumar Vishwas as a 'star'.

The conversation presents a straightforward sequence of events: Sunil Pal wanted to meet Dr. Kumar Vishwas, but the meeting did not take place. Such situations are not unusual when a popular personality has a busy schedule. Someone leaving before a visitor arrives, a change in schedule, or other circumstances that prevent a meeting do not, in themselves, constitute evidence of an insult or deliberate disrespect.

From Admiration to Criticism

The question, then, is this: If someone is unable to meet an artist or public figure they admire, how should they respond? Do they not have the right to express their disappointment? Of course, they do. But expressing disappointment and spreading false information to damage someone's reputation are two entirely different things.

A large number of admirers may wish to meet a popular poet like Dr. Kumar Vishwas. Between stage performances, travel, recordings, and other professional commitments, it is simply not practical to meet every person who wishes to see him. This is not a situation unique to one poet or artist; almost every popular public figure faces similar circumstances.

The problem arises when personal expectations begin to shape public perceptions. In the age of social media and television, remarks about an individual can reach a vast audience in a very short time.

Being a star is not merely about fame, applause, and the affection of admirers. It also comes with expectations that cannot always be fulfilled, regardless of the circumstances. A missed meeting is an event, disappointment is an emotion, and making public allegations against someone is an entirely separate matter. These three should not be judged by the same standard.
